Must have strong, demonstrated teamwork skills
Proven skills in the development of quality database design.
Communication skills, oral and written.
Must have BS- Computer Science degree or equivalent experience. MS degree is a plus with 5+ years database administration.
Must have good planning and organization skills.

Preferred- Oracle Certification, Data Modeling, Data Warehouse Design and Implementation
Job Summary-
Database design, implementation, and maintenance for large scale, high transaction, high availability databases in a telecom environment. Responsibilities include data modeling, data architecture, query optimization, performance tuning, replication, backup and recovery design, and data warehousing. Maintain and refine database architecture and standards. Prepare estimates and establish project schedules for analysis through project completion and implementation. Write technical design documentation for alterations to current state systems and future project design. Participate in peer reviews of technical design documentation and business requirement documentation for product release. Will be Tier I 24/7 support to designated production databases.
Will report directly to the IT Operations Support Manager.
Duties:
Responsible for development, test and production support database environments.
Data Architecture and Modeling (Logical and Physical).
Performance Tuning and Query Optimization
Database Replication
Backup and Recovery Plans
OLAP design and implementation
Establishing and maintaining database standards.
Estimation and Schedule responsibility for projects
Writing Technical Design Documentation
Responsible for database development and deployment activities
Facilitate and participate in design reviews and code walkthroughs.
Organize and participate in testing activities to ensure delivery of quality systems.
Provide 1st level support for the production databases.
