Desktop Engineer in Dallas, TX

MDI is a national IT Staffing and Consulting company that has been in business for 20 years. We are looking for a Desktop Engineer at one of our large, well established Healthcare clients in Dallas, TX. This is a Direct Hire position and an immediate need. Local candidates are preferred. Critical Skills Inventory Must have experience developing master or gold images.Must have experience with creating and maintaining sysprep d images.Must have experience with creating and deploying softwarepackages with desktop management products. Strong experience withLANDesk is highly desired.Must have experience with development and troubleshooting ofscripts. Batch files, vbscript, and use of AutoIT is highly desired.Must have experience creating and deploying automated installers.Must have experience with Active Directory Policy Development and Workstation management through Active Directory.Must have a thorough knowledge of desktop (windows XP) and Thin Client (XPe) software deployment and support.Must be able to perform advanced troubleshooting skills at theregistry and file system level. This position will often bridge the gapbetween application and network level support; therefore, strongknowledge of networking and application troubleshooting and behavior ispreferred.Must have some experience building Servers (windows 2003) Successful candidate profile The successful candidate will join our team working to support our desktop engineering activities. The successful candidate will assist with the development andimplementation of a new image(s) on current and upcoming Microsoftdesktop operating systems. The successful candidate will maintain our current desktop imageinventory, advancing its reliability and performance to continuallybetter the user experience at the Client's. The successful candidate will be tasked to respond to advanceddesktop issues that may turn out to be application or network issues;therefore, it is critical that the successful candidate will haveoutstanding customer service skills and technical capabilities. This candidate will be in our team s on-call support rotation,and will be able to hit the ground running in a servant-ledenvironment. Bottom line: They need to know desktop engineering. This position will usher in Windows 7 and all the wonders that come with it.
