C#.NET Developer in Dallas, TX

The Application Developer is responsible for creating, enhancing, and maintaining high performance, high availability desktop tools and database applications related to the business of portfolio management, accounting, and fund administration.

Duties include:

Developing and maintaining business logic components, database elements, and Windows based user interfaces for custom applications in the environment.

Utilizing problem solving skills to help enhance and support enterprise systems, software packages and internal tools.

Researching new development and database technologies.

Evaluating third-party applications as possible solutions in the environment.

Documenting application requirements, workflow, and technical specifications.

Creating and conducting test plans for in-house development projects and for third-party applications.

Advancing team development by building shared code libraries, and implementing coding standards.

Meeting delivery targets for development projects, and providing timely status reports for those projects.

Interacting heavily with end-users, throughout the development life-cycle, including: requirements gathering, testing, implementation, production support.
Experience: Candidates must demonstrate systems development capabilities, excellent communication skills and a desire to work in high-energy, goal-oriented development environment. The position requires the ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments simultaneously, anticipate required activities/tasks, and work according to changing priorities and deadlines. Important skills also include: attention to detail, understanding of source control procedures, and a grasp of user interface concepts / issues.

Bachelors degree required.

Excellent English skills both verbal and written. This is a client facing position.

Minimum of three years professional experience in systems development and programming

Knowledge of object oriented programming, database development, and/or spreadsheet application development is important.

Preferred technologies include:
.NET (C#), ASP.NET, MS SQL Server.

Experience with C++, Java is acceptable in lieu of .NET.

Experience with Java, Documentum, and VBA (Excel development) is also a plus.

Exceptional candidates will have experience developing financial applications, including portfolio management, accounting, and/or tax systems.
