Sr. Cisco Network Engineer / Internet Engineer in Dallas, TX

We need an Internet Engineer, NOT a Circuit Engineer.

Assist in the development, deployment, and maintenance of internal and external networks. Enjoy a certain degree of creativity and latitude as you help plan for future network growth and changes in technology.

  • Design and implement network infrastructure ( Cisco )
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain the network infrastructure on a 24x7 basis
  • Maintain documentation of current network architecture for internal use
  • Work with application developers to design future solutions to effectively support application changes
  • Work with customers or potential customers to engineer integrated network solutions
  • Proactively survey network traffic to identify bottlenecks and network congestion
  • Training and mentoring other team members
  • Assist in preparing network related reports for internal or external customers
  • Periodic travel as needed

    Experience: We need an Internet Engineer, NOT a Circuit Engineer

  • Bachelors degree
  • Local to Dallas / Fort Worth
  • Excellent English
  • Excellent people skills
  • Enthusiastic / passionate about delivering solutions
  • 3+ years managing Cisco LAN / WAN networks
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively advise and counsel both managers and non-supervisory employees on sensitive work related issues
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to organize and prioritize several projects and tasks at one time
  • Expert level experience with Cisco routers, switches, PIX firewalls, content switches, global site selectors, and Aironet wireless access points
  • Configuration and installation experience with network topologies such as Frame Relay, T1, and DS3
  • Advanced level understanding of protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, SNMP, etc
  • Working knowledge of internet services such as DNS, RADIUS, and LDAP
  • Design and configuration level experience with routing protocols such as BGP, IBGP, OSPF, and EIGRP
  • Admin level experience with Cisco hardware including, CSS -11500, PIX- 515E, ASA-5510, GSS 4480, IDS 4235, IPS and IDS, Cisco Aironet 1100, Altiga 3005
  • Administrative level experience with Windows 2000 server and workstation, Windows XP, and Windows 2003 Server
  • Previous work experience utilizing network monitoring tools such as Argent Guardian, HP Insight Manager, and IP Monitor
