Business Analyst – Hedge Fund The position is a Business Analyst role with a prestigious multi-billion dollar hedge fund here in Dallas. The hedge fund manages approximately $10 billion + in assets using a global, multi-strategy approach to market-neutral investing. The firm employs over 300 individuals in five offices around the world: Dallas, New York, London, Tokyo and Hong Kong. Requirements: Degree in Accounting, Finance or MIS; experience with a top tier consulting firm (Big 4 consulting, Accenture, etc.); excellent communication skills The $10 billion + hedge fund is looking for extraordinary business analysts to join their System Development team in Dallas. Successful candidates have a demonstrated track record of educational, professional, and personal achievement. He or she has an undergraduate or graduate degree in MIS, Finance or Accounting from a top-tier university and experience working with system or business process design. Financial experience is not a prerequisite, but an interest in the application of technology to investment management is a must. Candidates should also have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and an understanding of the difference between working smart and working hard. Responsibilities and Duties: • Gathering and documenting business requirements from stakeholders including current state processes and system gaps. • Translating business requirements into functional system specification and design documents. • Managing the issue identification and resolution process for relevant applications. • Maintaining Production applications via system configuration and data management. • Coordinating implementation efforts with the end users and other appropriate stakeholders. • Participating in, and in some instances owning, detailed system testing to ensure smooth technology releases into Production • Maintaining system development documentation for relevant applications and processes. • Managing small-to-medium project delivery efforts Job Requirements: • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance. Candidates with an MIS degree will be considered where strong Accounting experience is also present. • Must be highly motivated, organized and detail oriented. • The ideal candidate is a self-starter with the ability to multi-task and prioritize based on business requirements. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Critical thinker with the ability to identify problems and propose creative and workable solutions. • Prior experience working with system or business process design, as well as Microsoft Office products is preferred.
