Java / J2EE Developer (Contract) in Dallas, TX

Design and document custom software solutions which include database models, software architecture, process flow, and web navigation possibly all related to an Open Source CMS.

Develop custom software solutions using technologies such as: Java, J2EE, Hibernate, MS SQL Server, Struts, Tiles, XML, JSP, HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, Flash and maintain all assets under source control (CVS).

Review end user documentation for accuracy.

Establish and maintain development, staging and production environments using designated tools and procedures to build and promote software through the development cycle and to deliver upgrades and enhancements and regular intervals.

Unit test all software components prior to release to QA and communicate with Quality Assurance (QA) during the development cycle.

Consult regularly with the Customer Technology Data Services and Technology Services teams to identify tools and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy of the technology services provided to our customers.

Bring ideas for new technologies, software tools etc. for use by teams across the company to make all of our products better.

Develop and implement effective, efficient and controlled software solutions.

Must be able to quickly assess and react to changing circumstances and new information.

Must be able to communicate effectively with vendors, customers, peers, subordinates and management.

Experience:

Excellent English skills, both verbal and written

5 years software development experience

Java / J2EE

JSP

SQL

XML

Hibernate

Struts

HTML / DHTML and or AJAX

Web software development


Preferred:

Red Hat Linux

Open Source Content Management System ( CMS )
