Our Client is looking for a Sr. Systems Engineer:
This position will be responsible for managing and maintaining existing, future and co-location data centers globally. The candidate will work with architects, building management, vendors, consultants and will also work very closely with the internal systems and network engineering groups to provide an environment for more than 400 high density servers.
The candidate will be expected to continuously develop the environment which will rapidly grow within two to three years. This will include a lead role in the building of a brand new 4000 sq. ft. data center inDallas. A successful candidate will monitor the data center's usage and make recommendations on capacity planning. He or she will also allocate space for new hardware, coordinate data center moves, and manage staging areas and all IDF closets. The candidate will be expected to reduce operations costs for all data centers by maximizing efficiency and reducing energy usage.
Job Requirements:
Bachelors of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Solid knowledge of HVAC and power requirements for high availability datacenters including standby power generation, UPS, cooling plants, automatic transfer switches and power distribution
Understanding of Lights Out concepts of datacenter operations and fully proficient in integrating all data center components into system management and monitoring systems
Strong organizational skills
Working knowledge of building management systems
A very good and current understanding of high density server and VOIP power and cooling requirements
A strong understanding of and experience with TCP/IP and Storage Area Networking data center requirements
Broad knowledge of a wide variety of enterprise computer systems and data center technologies including blades, tiered storage, grid computing, virtualization, provisioning tools, clustering, and disaster recovery among other major skills
In depth knowledge of one of the following areas would be considered an advantage: Unix/Linux, storage systems, database administration or tele/data communications
Ability to lead teams and work in a team environment
